This was a warm-up/practice exercise from the past couple days I never actually read Le Fanu's Carmilla, but it's definitely on my list of must-read Gothic novels. Somewhere between Radcliffe's Italian and Brown's Wieland. But those Gothics can be dry, especially in the summer, so they always seem to get pushed aside when I look for something fun on my shelf. Right now I'm knee deep in the Marvel Essential collections of Gerber's "Man-thing". The swampy setting is perfect for this 90 degree weather.
